About Me

Where it all began...

For as long as I can remember, my life has been immersed in music. My Mum - a singer, and now pianist/accompanist, and Dad - violinist, met at the Liverpool Philharmonic, so you could say that my fate was sealed from the start.

Thanks to many hours of ‘games’ to train my ear at a very young age, (thanks Dad!) I developed a good sense of pitch and musicality early on. This led to many a giggle around the dinner table after being challenged to identify what note the kitchen door handle twanged at - a useless skill, or so I thought!

Qualifying and Experience

After a brief stint at Leeds College of Music and working in customer services for a decade, I was accepted to study Piano Tuning, Maintenance and Restoration at Newark College for 3 years. Here I was awarded the Bluthner Cup for highest score in the end of year Diploma exam - the first time this prize had been awarded in 15 years.

Since qualifying, I have become a member of the freelance technical team at the Yamaha Piano Selection Centre in Milton Keynes, as well as working extensively with piano shops around Manchester.

My personal client base continues to grow and includes schools, churches and private domestic customers.
